Our Story

elm Edinburgh is a consultancy business which was founded in March 2014 by the Edinburgh-based entrepreneur Iain Mercer. The company was formed to allow Iain the opportunity to build a client base within his two core areas of expertise: commercial/residential property and media, specialising in PR.

Following elm's official launch in June 2014, the business was retained by Scotland’s newest multi-service law firm Gilson Gray LLP. Iain is one of their dedicated property consultants with a specific focus on growing and developing the residential sales strategy in East Lothian on behalf of the firm.

In addition, elm has pursued its passion for media by providing bespoke PR services to the Scottish property and construction industry. Iain has strategic influence over securing media exposure for a number of high profile clients and writing quality content for media output.

elm is also providing marketing services to a number of clients through its partnership with The Covey Agency; an Edinburgh-based advertising, digital and design agency.

Our Creative Partner

In developing elm. Edinburgh we have partnered with the Edinburgh-based creative design agency, The Covey Agency. This allows us to provide an extension to our PR services by offering clients bespoke marketing packages.

The Covey Agency is a family owned creative design agency based in Edinburgh. The Covey’s, Vic Snr and Vic Jnr, are no strangers to life in the fast lane (both are former racing drivers) and have an in-depth knowledge and experience of digital, print, advertising a creative marketing. Our kind of people.

Covey Digital is the latest addition to the Covey Group of companies. We work closely with the company in providing digital solutions to our clients ranging from SEO or web-based development projects.
